Balakrishna Orders NTR To Speak Up

It seems like the posters of NTR Jr's latest release Baadshah are giving him sleepless nights, having kicked up a political storm of sorts in the state. It all started when NTR Jr's pictures from his latest movie appeared along with stills of Jagan Mohan Reddy and Kodali Nani (a close associate of NTR Jr) on hoardings and posters put up by YSRCP (YS Rajasekhara Reddy Congress Party) in Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, Karimnagar and Gudiwada days before its release.

More posters carrying pictures of Jagan and YSR were put up in Cheerala by YS Jagan Youth a day before the release. The party's workers put up similar posters at Satyanarayana Theatre in Nuziveedu on Thursday. The fact that someone from the Nandamuri family, which has been associated with the TDP for generations was seen on a YSRCP poster, led to a scuffle between members of the two political parties and cops were forced to intervene.

Now, the issue has taken a familial turn as the actor's uncle, Balakrishna, made no secret of his displeasure as he addressed the media in Krishna district, on Saturday. Balayya urged NTR Jr to come out and condemn the YSRCP workers for using his poster to promote their party. "He (NTR Jr) must issue a public denouncement and clarify his stand.

I will personally tell him to do that," said Balayya adding, "He will have to face the consequences if he doesn't do so." The TDP leaders blame the NTR Jr fans in the YSRCP fold for the posters, and want the star to issue a public statement. NTR Jr meanwhile, has maintained stoic silence on the issue. "That's because his (NTR Jr) father-in-law, Narne Srinivas Rao is contesting the next elections on YSRCP ticket," says the actor's close aide. Looks like NTR Jr is sandwiched between his father-in-law and his uncle at the moment. Now that's a tight spot!
